Gary Player and a host of VIP corporate and celebrity friends will gather at the prestigious Wentworth for the 2012 Gary Player Invitational. Each competing team of 3 amateur guests will be joined by a high-profile celebrity or professional golfer, representing an excellent cross-section of business, sports, entertainment and society.
The Player Foundation has nominated the Lord Taverner’s charity as a beneficiary of the event.
Tournament Format
The Gary Player Invitational (GPI) is the UK’s leading Pro-Celebrity charity golf event, offering companies a fantastic platform for entertainment and networking whilst also raising money for an incredibly worthy cause - The Player Foundation.
Each team of three amateur guests is joined by either a Pro or Celebrity, competing in a team alliance medal competition where the two best scores on each hole will count.
The golf is followed by drinks at the Clubhouse. After freshening up and a little relaxation time, guests are treated to an amazing Champagne Reception followed by the main Gala Dinner and Auction.
Event Schedule for Monday, July 23rd
Venue: Wentworth Golf Club – Edinburgh Course
09:00 – Guests arrive at Wentworth Golf Club for Registration
09:00 onwards – Breakfast at Wentworth Club House
11:00 – Gary Player golf clinic
12:00 – Shotgun start on the Edinburgh Course
17:00 – Players complete their rounds
18:30 – Champagne reception at Wentworth
19:00 – Gala Auction Dinner
22:00 – Transfers to the Runnymede Hotel
