Masizame Children’s Shelter

Masizame have been serving the community in protecting the vulnerable children of this region since 1992. Masizame has not only survived but has grown and flourished as a community based project in the Greater Bitou region. The Masizame Children’s Shelter has an extensive geographical reach, and until 2006 we were the only registered Shelter for Orphaned & Vulnerable Children (OVC) in the Southern Cape. The children that come into the Masizame family are victims of a society that has failed them. The children did not choose their circumstances in life, and all of them are to be lauded as brave heroes for surviving horrendous physical and emotional abuse. As a result of sexual abuse, many of the children are infected or effected with HIV/Aids and other life threatening diseases.

Masizame has always been a pioneer. We strive to provide vital services at the right time for the poorest of the poor communities. Our objectives cannot be met without the faith, inspiration and financial resources of organisations such as The Gary Player Invitational. We are inspired by your ongoing support. We are confident that with any fund raising monies Masizame will be able to improve the psycho-social services that we provide to these wounded children.
