South Africa Event Information

Welcome to South Africa’s premiere charity golf event. This year sees the 12th playing of this extraordinary event, a gathering of golfers, businessmen and celebrities who have raised more than R25 million for worthy causes. Download the GPI Auction Brochure.

Tournament Format

The Gary Player Invitational is unique in the world of golf in that it partners a top businessman, a top celebrity, a regular tour player and a champion’s tour player in a Team format where all can contribute to the final result. The two best net scores (of any of the four players) on each hole will count. The team recording the best score over 36 holes will be declared the winner.

There is also a Betterball Competition in which the Team is made up of a Senior Tour and a Regular Tour professional golfer. The best “betterball” score on each hole will count. The team recording the best score over 36 holes will be declared the winner and receive R250,000 in prize money.
