Hugh Connerty

Hugh is the President of Stokes Land Group. Prior to joining the Stokes organization, Hugh completed a successful twenty-five year career in the restaurant industry. Hugh is the founder of Longhorn Steakhouse and Hooters of America restaurants.

Hugh was also the original franchisee of the Outback Steakhouse Company. From 1995 to 2002, he was the President and General Partner of Outback Steakhouse International, responsible for developing the Outback brand internationally. Hugh served in the United States Army for six and half years earning the rank of Captain before changing careers. Hugh continues to be a visionary and focused leader.

Hugh is a giving philanthropist supporting several non-profit organizations throughout the United States and South Africa. For the past ten years, Hugh has served on the President’s Council of the Betty Ford Center. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Goizueta School of Business at Emory University
